Understanding one's right to confidentiality may at times seem bothersome and a bit skewed. Confidentiality is your right. As a client of Asa Don Brown, we are obligated to protecting your individual rights.
Gaining your respect and trust is our goal. Confidentiality is an essential aspect of the therapeutic process and relationship. It is the ethical and legal obligation of your therapist and advocate. Confidentiality is a must. Confidentiality is a mutual aspect of the therapeutic relationship; this is especially held true for our group work. As a professional organization, we hope that our push for confidentiality is a credible sign of our integrity. Through this philosophy, our organization and Asa Don Brown himself is hopeful to gain a professional relationship with you.
Confidentiality to us means that we are safeguarding your individual rights:
Your rights include, but do not exclude rights not listed upon this page: [ this is due to the ever changing attitude towards human rights ]

Confidentiality of personal information and access to documents
Confidentiality of personal information and access to documents are governed by the provisions of the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and the legal statues set by State and Federal Governing Bodies.
The overriding article of confidentiality states:
Duty to warn refers to the responsibility of a counselor or therapist to breach confidentiality if a client or other identifiable person is in clear or imminent danger. In situations where there is clear evidence of danger to the client or other persons, the counselor must determine the degree of seriousness of the threat and notify the person in danger and others who are in a position to protect that person from harm (Herlihy & Sheeley, 1988; Pate, 1992).
Confidentiality is our obligation and our commitment!!!
